Solar-powered roadside weather stations
We used our cabinets to house the equipment for a solar-powered roadside weather station.
Contract
WME outdoor cabinets with IP66 protection were used to house equipment for a solar-powered roadside weather station. The outdoor cabinets are located along Czech roads where they are exposed to adverse conditions, especially in winter, when they come in contact with salted snow from the road. CONTEG came up with a solution to replace the standard shell material of the outdoor cabinet with AISI 316L stainless steel coated with a UV-resistant powder paint - a solution highly resistant to high humidity and aggressive substances. We also recommended the use of PG grommets with IP68 protection for the cabling to protect the lower part of the cabinet where the backup batteries are stored against water leakage in the event of unexpected damage to the upper part.
